I graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1986, and spent the next 11 years sailing on ocean-going U.S. flag oil tankers and bulk carriers and raised my Merchant Marine license to Master, Any Gross Tons upon Oceans. In 1997 I joined the Pilot force at the Panama Canal where I worked for 3 years. In 2000 I joined the Pilots at Port Canaveral, Florida, one of the busiest cruise ship ports in the world handling some of the world's largest cruise ships. From 2008 to 2011, I served as Co-Managing Partner for the Canaveral Pilots Association responsible for managing the association's business and professional affairs. In 2015 I obtained my MBA from Webster University. I served as the International Propeller Club Third Vice President and Convention Co-Chairman in 2017 and I am on the Board and served a term as President of the Propeller Club of Port Canaveral.
